Here is my second tutorial on the door garland to match my wreath. I think it turned out well for my first try. I will definitely be doing this again for Christmas.
I bought two sets of 9.5 foot work garland from hobby lobby. Their fall stuff has been on sale the past three weeks at 40% off.
I used the garland and measured around the door frame outside. (excuse the mess in the craft room right now. Working on a ton of projects at the moment since its pretty much holiday season now.)
I used duct tape to tape the two together at the top of my garland.
I used the rest of my deco mesh roll from my wreath and got this far. I had four rolls of this Halloween mesh though. So if you do this you might use one roll but I would have another on hand just in case. Door sizes vary I'm sure.
After I finished that I went around with some tinsel garland that I got at dollar tree.
I then used some flex tubing and used the same technique as in my wreath but instead of tying each section I just added it to each of the twist ties. These hold much better than the pipe cleaners that I used on my wreath.
I took some tinsel spiders and random dollar Halloween items I got a several places and glued or tied them to the garland.
I used some hooks and attached it to the top of my doorway. I still had some little hooks on the sides from Christmas and I clipped the garland onto those to hold it to the door. I then glued some wire to the back of two large glitter pumpkins and wired it on either side.
